What’s the future for career specialists who prefer mastery more than management and how do we engage and support our leading experts within our organsations?

For our most recent ‘Future Thinking Forum’ in July, we took a closer look at the changing role of the specialist. Specifically we discussed:

• Challenges of leading specialists or working as a leader in a specialist environment
• Career pathways and development options for specialists
• Developing the concept of serial mastery
• Implications for career pathways and managing talent

We were delighted to be joined by Dr Ben Reid from The Work Foundation who challenged our thinking in this area.

With ‘live”case study evidence we had the opportunity to pose questions to people actually working in this arena and came away with new ideas and thinking for our own organisations.
